1.Wayne Coyne
In the first decade of the millennium, Wayne Coyne from the band the Flaming Lips traveled all around the venue in a ball that fans passed around above them. The fans got to get a very up close look at the singer.
2. Jimi Hendrix
In 1967, at the Monterey Pop Festival, Jimi Hendrix placed his guitar on the ground and lit it on fire with the help of some lighter fluid. The stunt was very artistic and dramatic and he even had to be hospitalized for burns that he sustained.
3. Alice Cooper
Alice Cooper let a chicken go in to the crowd of his 1969 Toronto show. In interviews he claimed that he believed it would be able to fly. The chicken descended in to the crowd where it was dismembered by fans.
4. Diana Ross
In 1999 at a VMA performance Diana Ross approached Lil Kim and fondles her mostly exposedbreast. Lil Kim was wearing an adhesive flower to cover part of her breast and legendary icon Diana Ross felt it was grab worthy.
5. Iggy Pop
All throughout the sixties and seventies; Iggy Pop was photographed cutting himself with sharp objects on stage regularly. He would bleed all over his chest and his clothes as a part of the entertainment.
6. Ozzy Osbourne
In 1980, lead singer of Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, was tossed up a bat from the audience. Believing that the bat was rubber, he picked up the bat and bit its head off.
7. R. Kelly
In 2005, R. Kelly performed “Trapped in the Closter” where he proceeded to act out all of the roles in the song. This included fighting with himself, and pretending to kiss an invisible person. It was truly a strange performance at best.
8. Madonna and Britney Spears
At the 2003, VMA’s Madonna and Britney Spears shared a kiss on stage that was heard and seen around the world. Then Madonna turned around and kissed Christine Aguilera on the lips too. It was a love filled evening.
9. Kanye West
At the 2009 VMA’s Kanye West jumps on stage andinterrupts Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech while exclaiming that Beyoncé deserved the award and he proceeded to “let her finish.”
10. Beyoncé
In 2009, Beyoncé forfeited her acceptance speech and allowed Taylor Swift to finish hers in that time frame. It was one of the craziest and most generous acts that a singer has done publicly on stage in a long time.
