Paramore Look To 'Space Jam' Tokio Hotel In Musical March Madness

السبت، 6 أبريل 2013

MTV's Musical March Madness moves on to round two, and while we've already seen no shortage of shocking upsets — Adios, My Chemical Romance! Sayonara, Mumford & Sons! — there were plenty of tournament-tested bands that held tough, and lived to fight another day.
Defending champs Tokio Hotel survived a serious challenge from My Bloody Valentine, Thirty Seconds To Mars blasted Soundgarden, and Evanescence got past Ke$ha without breaking a sweat. And, of course, there was perennial powerhouse Paramore, who took down Portugal. The Man with ease, and look poised to once again make a deep tournament run.

Paramore entered MMM 2013 with a sizeable chip on their shoulders; after all, they've come close to winning the tournament each of the past three years — including a championship game loss to Green Day in 2011 — and, as they told MTV News in an exclusive video message, they firmly believed that this was their time to take home the championship.
But now that they've moved on to round two, where they face off against Metallica, do they still believe that they're the team to beat? Well, thanks to the support of their fanatic fanbase, the answer is "Absolutely."

"I don't know what it's going to take [to win], but we think our fans are going to come through for us this time," Hayley Williams said. "We believe in them."
"We've got really cool fans," bassist Jeremy Davis added. "Our fans are up-all-nighters, that are, like, online constantly, we have faith in them."
So, be warned, Tokio Hotel: Paramore are coming for you. And though there's still plenty of time left to go in second-round voting — polls will close on Monday, April 1 at noon ET — Hayley and her crew have already developed a late-game strategy to help ensure victory ... and move the one step closer to the ultimate goal: ending the Kaulitz brothers' reign as MMM champs.

"We're going to get the buzzer shot," guitarist Taylor York said. "That's our plan for every round, we're going to make people they got it, and then they get the buzzer shot. Three pointer, from downtown. Boom Shaka Laka."
"In the last quarter, we're just going to take it," Williams added. "Space Jam.
