As expected, Facebook today made its new "Facebook Home" application available for download in the Google Play Store. The app aims to make using Facebook and interacting with both  content and friends easier using features such as Cover Feed and Chat Heads. Cover Feed replaces a user's lock screen and home screen with a stream of updates and images from his or her friends. A user can flick through the content to browse through it, both Liking and commenting on updates can be done while in the Cover Feed.
Meanwhile, Chat Heads allows a user to easily communicate with friends while simultaneously performing other tasks with the device. When a message is received, the sender's profile image will appear in a small circle that will stick to the sides of the phone's display no matter what a user is doing. The Chat Head can be repositioned to make doing other things easier, and a user can access the conversation at any time by tapping on the Chat Head.
Facebook has said that Home will initially only be supported on a handful of Android devices at launch, including the HTC One, One X, One X+, Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy S 4 and Galaxy Note II. The company plans to add support for more handsets in the coming months, and tablet support is also said to be in the pipeline. Facebook Home can also be accessed on the HTC First, which comes with Home preinstalled. The HTC First is available at AT&T starting today, April 12, for $99.99 with a two-year contract. Facebook Home can be downloaded from the Google Play Store right here.
