It looks like this Friday just got quite a bit tastier for owners of the Samsung Galaxy Axiom on U.S. Cellular, as it's been revealed that the Axiom's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is ready for download. U.S. Cellular has added information about the update to its official Android Downloads support page, revealing that the update brings the Galaxy Axiom up to baseband version R830VXBMB2 and Android version 4.1.2. Some of the new features that Galaxy Axiom owners will be receiving with the update include Google Now, smoother operation thanks to Project Butter, expandable notifications and the ability to swipe from the camera viewfinder to look at photos without having to leave the camera app.
In order to snag this Android 4.1.2 update, anyone rocking a Samsung Galaxy Axiom must first connect to Wi-Fi and then head into Settings > About Device > Software Update on their phone. The Galaxy Axiom hasn't been in the spotlight much since its launch in late November 2012, but that's obviously changing today, and I'm not sure that there's a better reason for bursting back into the news than the rollout of a Jelly Bean update. If you've got a Galaxy Axiom that calls your pocket "Home," be sure to hook on to a Wi-Fi connection and check for that update just as soon as you can!
