The device is eagerly anticipated by operators and retailers as being key to satisfying consumer demand for next generation BlackBerry devices. The 4G-enabled phone is the second device to feature BlackBerry's BB10 operating system. Carphone Warehouse said the handset will be available to buy across all networks from the end of April. The first 2,000 contract customers who pre-order will receive a free wireless Bluetooth speaker worth £79.95.
Graham Stapleton, chief operating officer at Carphone Warehouse, said: 'The new BlackBerry Q10 takes everything that’s great about the recently launched BlackBerry Z10 and adds a physical Qwerty keyboard – perfect for users who still prefer the physical push of a button when using their devices. BlackBerry’s new handsets are innovative and modern and the new operating system gives customers a brilliant alternative to others out there at the moment. The BlackBerry Z10 has proved extremely popular and we’re certain that our customers will be very keen to get their hands on the new BlackBerry Q10.'
After Carphone's announcement this morning, other retailers outlined their own Q10 plans. Indie rival Phones 4u said that it was offering 64GB PlayBook tablets for the first 200 pre-orders. It said the black version of the device would be available by the end of April, with the white to follow some weeks later. Vodafone confirmed it would stock the handset
