Samsung focused blog, SamMobile reports that some devices in the Samsung's lineup of products that start with the prefix name 'SM' will be part of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 3 range. It claims that the SM-T3100 will be the 3G version of the 16GB Galaxy Tab 3, while the SM-T3110 prefix will be the Wi-Fi version. Both will come in white colour.
The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 was also named similarly. The Wi-Fi version of the tablet was named GT-P3110, while the 3G version was named GT-P3100.
SamMobile had earlier reported that Samsung was working on a range of products with model numbers starting with the prefix, 'SM'. The company presently uses the 'GT' prefix for products in Europe / Asia, Africa and some South American countries. The report cited an 'insider' to inform that Samsung will use the SM-T prefix for its new tablet line up, which is almost ready and will take on the yet to be released, iPad 5 and iPad mini 2.
Following the report, RBmen posted a link to Samsung's Japanese support page that listed ten tablets starting with the prefix code, SM.
Earlier this year, PhoneArena had published purported images of one of the versions of the Galaxy Tab 3 though the model number was not visible. Prior to that, SamMobile had also reported that Samsung had cancelled the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 and may instead go ahead with the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, that will be dependent on how the Galaxy Note 8.0 sells.
We had earlier reported about Samsung's expected tablet line-up likely to launch this year. The next generation Galaxy Tab 3 devices are expected to include 8-inch, 10.1-inch and the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus versions that will be launched in separate Wi-Fi and LTE variants as well.
